Individual Checklist
For things to
bring out a campout please refer to page 224 of the BSA handbook. The list below is a brief example and is not
a complete list.
PERSONAL NECESSITIES:
Change of clothes for every day of the outing. Please take into consideration the weather forecast. This all applies to boots or change in shoes, rain gear, and warm clothes as appropriate.
Your bedroll should be appropriate for the season; air mattress or foam pad is optional.
The Patrol will usually cook as a unit. You are responsible for bringing your own utensils, plate, & cup. Everything else will be in the Patrol Kitchen.
The small items of importance include: flashlight, compass, pocketknife, bug lotion, sun block, water bottle, and small first aid kit (could be home made with several bandages).
You should also bring your Scout handbook, paper, and pencil to take advantage of possible advancement.
Finally a toilet kit including: wash cloth & towel, soap, toothbrush & paste, comb.
If any medicine is being sent – please notify the leader of the activity.
All this can be packed in a school duffle bag, knapsack, or backpack.
Tents are available through the Troop – we will ask the Scout to take home the tent and air it out after the campout and bring back the following Tuesday.
For winter camping – extra outer clothing is a must.
OPTIONAL items:
Range from cards, to camera, etc.
We DISCOURAGE:
Electronic games and junk food.
